My kids loved this story! They giggled when they saw the principal in a cape! They commented throughout the story "Yea, our principal does that too!". Great story for kids to enjoy and relate to!

I don’t know about you, but I have a little difficulty in applying language skills. Vocabulary is easy to learn, but how does it fit?After learning Spanish, German, and Italian, my next focus was French. French has always given me a little difficulty, and that is where this book comes in.If you have a basic understanding of French vocab and a little grammar, this book “tricks” you into learning by teaching you in seven stories.You don’t realize you are learning until you notice that you are no longer mechanically translating in your head. You are seamless.I found this book along with my Duolingo app were the two best additions to my French learning. Bravo to the author, and I hope they do a Part Deux.

This is an excellent book to start learning French. The stories are easy to follow and there are good explanations of phrases. If you are beginning you will need to hear it as you read. My pronunciation is fairly good so I didnt need it as I went through the first time. At the end of the book there is a link to get the audio. It took me a while to figure which link that was. The download was not that easy for me, however I did accomplish it. That's the only drawback to an excellent format.

These stories are short, flow nicely and written in an easy read format!They provide an excellent read for beginning to intermediate French learners for several reasons!The content is moving with a nice easy flow, providing dictionary reference by boldly printing definitions within the read.The subject variety of each little story is really great as well and provides a solid vocabulary on many different useful, everyday topics.I did enjoy this authors approach to improving French conversation and vocabulary through short stories. This book is great for brushing up on some conversation and vocabulary to plan a conversation in French!

I have this desire to learn different languages around the world and one of them is French. I dream one day, that I would go there and explore their culture.And this audio book is all I need to learn the French language. It is divided in 3 levels, beginners, intermediate and French. This book is true to its words, It is the painless way to improve your french vocabulary and your confidence with reading and listening.It's easy to master because each paragraph is broken down with a French to English glossary. Though it's a really long book, the audio part is very convenient for me. I was able to listen to it, anytime I want and a big help for me to know the right way to say the words.The exercises after each stories are important because it allows me to apply what I have learned in French language. Worth your time and money!Â

The main reason I decided to proceed with this eBook was for the MP3 recording, most I have come across do not have this feature. It's vital to hear the pronunciation, not to mention it was narrated by a native french speaker which was a big plus. I took French classes in high school but never completely grasped the language, I feel this eBook has helped with my specific learning curve, providing a Glossary right in the eBook itself. Actually hearing the speaker really helped me personally, provided me with a more "one-on-one" feel versus the huge classes I'm used to. I took about two years of French classes, I wouldn't say I'm a beginner but I am definitely not an expert either, this was a perfect fit and great for the cost too. Someone who wants to brush up on their French, maybe lost touch with the language would really appreciate this and the short stories were great to read.

I have learnt French on and off for many years. As a result I have more than a basic knowledge of the language but have also forgotten much between periods of learning. I like to read to improve my French but it is difficult to find books that are right for my level; not too hard but still challenging enough to help me improve. I found this book helpful because it was the right mix of those two things. I particularly liked the running vocabulary alongside the text, I found it to be of great assistance for words and phrases I didn't know and it meant that I didn't have to read with a dictionary beside me, constantly looking up words. It was also a good length, not too long but not too short like some similar ebooks are. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it for anyone who has some prior knowledge of French and is looking to improve their skill level, whilst picking up some essential french phrases.

I have always been interested in the French culture and language. So, when I came across this E-book, I was anxious to see just how much I would learn. At first, I was a bit intimated because the whole E-book is in French and being a beginner it seemed a bit overwhelming. I am sure my French accent did not sound French at all but by listening to each short story and actually hearing the pronunciation, I was able to practice at my own leisure and get it right. This book is a must if you invest or need to dispassionately evaluate many kinds of evidence used in studies involving mathematics including graphs. If you take nothing else from it, the explanation of regression to the mean is more than worth the price of the book. After reading it on loan from my local library and even before returning it, I realized I would want to refer to it again and again and purchased it.I studied basic statistics and statistics for social sciences in college many years ago. I wish this book had been available then. While my grades would have been better for it, more than that, my understanding would have certainly been enhanced.

Gary Smith's book Standard Deviations is an enjoyable, highly readable overview of using statistical analysis correctly and the pitfalls that can accompany its abuse. Unlike seemingly every other reviewer here, I am neither a PhD nor a statistician, but I do not believe this particular book is targeted to such a narrow audience. Statistics is a topic that many people find as exciting as watching paint dry, but Smith's lively writing style and plentiful examples help keep the reader's interest regardless of their underlying interest or expertise in the field. Concepts are clearly explained, demonstrated with an example or two, and summarized again. Occasionally, I found some of the content to be of limited value. The chapter on graphs was not improved by the discussion of chartjunk, in my opinion. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book overall and will likely read it periodically as a reminder to think critically about any 'facts' proven by this or that statistical analysis.

I am no expert on stats and I never attained a PHD but that didn't stop me from enjoying this book tremendously. If you are like I was in college and hated your stats class don't that deter you from purchasing this book! Professor Smith's insights are conveyed in an easy to understand manner and his instructions are very valuable to everyone! You will no longer accept academic studies on face value and be skeptical the next time you read in the newspaper about a study that doesn't pass the common sense test. After reading this book you will be armed with strategies to avoid being duped by people who are data farming. Everyone should read this book at least twice!

This makes statistics fun & you learn so much, especially how you are being fooled everyday. I bought 3 more copies & sent them to friends, some of them MBA's & big-time stock buyers & they too have learned a lot.

Like the previous reviewer, I have a Ph.D. in a related field (finance) and also like him, I had never heard of the author, Dr. Smith, before seeing this book last week. After that we are alike in no apparent way. I heard no NPR interview, but when I saw this book on the shelf, I flipped through it and liked its contents well enough to buy it. I did not research the author's CV to decide whether his logic is sound; when a publication is in my area of expertise, I prefer to make that evaluation myself. I am only about a third of the way through the book, but so far I sufficiently impressed that I will probably make it assigned reading the next time I teach a doctoral class that focuses on methodological issues. If you're not doctoral student, don't worry; the book is written for a reasonably bright layman, but many of the issues Dr. Smith raises are common (but not obvious) errors I have seen many researchers make, and I really like seeing so many of them summarized in one place.Indeed, I find it difficult to understand the frame of reference from which the previous reviewer sees the book. He starts by saying "most of the stuff Smith covers has been extensively documented elsewhere," but then goes on to imply Smith is unqualified to summarize said documentation. He criticizes Dr. Smith because "it [sic] like he enjoys taking pot shots at other more respected economists," but then himself asserts that "[Dr. Smith's] CV implies that he was denied tenure at Yale," and then refers to his "bitterness" and his "being willfully blind to the real world." "Enjoys taking pot shots?" Physician, heal thyself. Let me address just the implications of the conjecture that Dr. Smith was denied tenure at Yale. Yale is a world-class university, and Dr. Smith was undoubtedly selected from a set of a hundred or more applicants from other top universities. The fact that Dr. Smith was selected from that pool strongly signals to me that he is exceptionally well trained and almost certainly sufficiently well-qualified to write such a book.I do thank the previous reviewer for pointing me in the direction of "Murmane [sic] and Willett's" book, which he suggests summarizes "plenty of rigorous statistical methods for making valid inferences from observational data." My own personal suspicion is that using an imperfect IV creates at least as many problems as it solves (indeed this is a research area I intend to pursue myself when time permits), but I look forward to reading Murnane and Willett's analysis of this issue.OK, enough about the previous review, what about the book itself? The author is quite correct that, given the pressure to publish, many researchers will be inclined to look at different combinations to try to find statistically significant relations between variables of interest, and that this changes the statistical significance level when such a relation is found. We all see the results of this regularly. Last year eggs were bad for your health; this year they are good. Last month vitamin pills were good; this month they are bad. The traditional wisdom is that because protein is hard on the kidneys, feline renal problems should be treated with a low-protein diet, but there is a growing body of research (e.g., see Hodgkins' book Your Cat, a real bargain at the Kindle price of $8.89) suggesting that in the wild, a cat's diet is about 2/3 fat and 1/3 protein, and when we give them the low-protein diet characteristic of dry food we are actually causing renal (and other) problems, not solving them. Is coffee good or bad? It depends on whether you are reading today's newspaper, or yesterday's, or last week's. The list of such flip-flops is endless, and indeed the medical journals seem to be taking the lead in addressing this problem (e.g., Ioannidis' Why Most Published Findings are False, http://www.plosmedicine.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pmed.0020124).Why are all these tests so inconsistent? Part of the reason is that many are based on observational data and, the IV method notwithstanding, it is difficult to determine cause and effect from observational data. Part of the reason is that sometimes researchers will keep looking until they find a statistically significant result that supports their hypothesis, and then use the same data to "confirm" that hypothesis. Sometimes there was a bias in the way the samples were selected. Sometimes the sample size is too small, or the data were grouped incorrectly, or the wrong data were excluded. If you want a better understanding of these issues, and to be better prepared to assess for yourself what you see in the media, I highly recommend this book.

This was a fun read. Smith finds the delicate balance between educational examples and genuinely fun anecdotes. I recommend this book to those who wish to understand the perils of flawed statistical analyses. It helps to have some statistics background, but it is not required.

This would make a great supplemental book for science or math class for a high school student. It presents an opportunity to clear up misconceptions early and encourages healthy skepticism. I especially liked the discussions about randomness.

The art has also taken quite the hit this volume, but it's still serviceable for the story being told. All in all, this was quite the let down for a book that I was really digging when it started, but really dipped in quality after the writer change.

Having conquered his first city in his quest for empire, Daken the dark wolverine next heads to L.A. . Here Daken wants to do the same thing, but a wrinkle in his plan appears in the form of a new super drug called heat. I did like the drugged out hallucination scenes in this volume, but they did seem about unnecessary at times. The art change for these scenes work, but I'd like to notable too many of them next volume.

I love Daken, but this guy is nuts and he certainly proves me right with this graphic novel. In the last volume of the series, there is great art, an interesting storyline, and that age old turmoil between father and son. Be prepared for a wild ride.

I bought a Ukulele for my youngest grandchildren (4 & 9) so I needed a beginner training book -- since they don't plan to take lessons. They already play the piano (or at least the 9 year old is proficient) but still this is a different type of instrument. The 9 year old also plays the guitar. With their knowledge and these great little books, it is simple for the 9 year old. The 4 year old is working her way thru the book and I think she's doing great. She hasn't lost interest yet. Thank you.

I have been teaching classroom music for over 30 years. I also teach guitar. I was always afraid to begin young children on guitar, because the coordination was too difficult for them. I discovered this book a few years ago. It is kid friendly. It has only a little music on each page, has fun pictures and clear explanations. A few years ago, I had several parents approach me to teach a guitar class to second graders. I have been using this book with the matching course book for about 5 years. The children love the book and are very excited as they advance through the pages. I see the advantage of 3 string chords, as well. The children learn to keep strumming as they change chords, rather than stopping to figure out how to make the chord. They also learn how to play simple melodies on the first three strings. The note speller is a great reinforcement of what they are learning in the course book. I highly recommend this guitar course to use for any beginning guitarist up through 10 years old.

I ordered the wrong book was wanting one for learning to play not write notes. I'm sure if this is needed it will be used later. No songs to learn to play.

Volume 81 of One Piece almost wraps up the mini arc of Zou. And I have to say that despite being an island full of animal people this arc was very dark for One Piece. So get ready for one crazy volume.The volume covers what the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates have been up to since we last have seen them back in near the start of the last arc. Needless to say Sanji, Nami, Brook, Chpper and friends were on a crazy adventure to reach Zou. The volume also gives us a first real look at 2 of the 4 Emperors crews and introduces us to several Minks, the people who live on Zou. My personal favorite of the several new characters is Cat Viper, who is just a riot. But most of all it starts to go into the true background of Sanji.A final word of caution is that this volume does get a bit more graphic than usual, so you have been warned.

The dialogue is, of course, different from the original. The images are right on! I'm the type of person who likes a fat book! Feels good to say it too! And while enjoying a low priced treasure of awesomeness, I began to get ideas. Ideas of how a good story(an epic) should continually change. The end of East Blue brings a time and a place where the crew faces stronger opponents and situations that require a sudden change when the old ways no longer work. Things get harder, and it becomes obvious that there is a need to get stronger when you start to go up against the best, especially when you really that the best is no longer just you. It's a type of story that really makes you question if you believe things only when it's easy to believe or if you're willing to defend them when they come under attack. When two ways of thinking cannot coexist, Is violence the only way to defend what is precious to you, against those who care only for themselves? It' really a hidden question of morality and a sense of self-discovery. Or maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see. It's great when a simple story gets you to question everything else. It's also pretty cool, when the story still going after 13 years. If you know One Piece, you know what I mean, If you don't then you have a choice to make. Enjoy it or don't.One Piece: East Blue 10-11-12 starts with Arlong and Luffy's fight and ends in whiskey peak whith the crew about to be attacked in their sleep.

I don't get this series. But things really started to take off after volumes 10 and 11. The shark guy was a boring character. The travel to the grand line, and with Nami as a member of the ship, is much more interesting. I'm kind of curious to see if this series pop off in 13-14-15. So far, I don't see what makes One Piece so good. Weird that they're making this part into a movie.

There were a couple of pages that were folded up. I thought it was just from shipping, but turns out its a printing error. The pages werent cut right and they just got stuffed into the book, so there are also deep creases in those pages.

This omnibus will want you to hug Nami and tell her that everything will be alright, because Luffy will beat Arlong to a bloody pulp!The first two parts of the omnibus go over Nami's past and explains why she's so greedy for money, and you will cry! Sanji, Zoro, and surprisingly Usopp have they chances to shine along with Luffy in this arc.

As I get the first two volumes, I will add them. Two, I know these are three separate volumes and I would usually break them up into their corresponding separate books. However, as this is the only way I've read them; I will treat them as the ones I'm use to.*The Gush*Volume 10-part of 11 concludes the Truth about Nami story while the rest of 11 and 12 follows our heroes to 'Rogue Town' (or Logue Town if you watch the Anime) and onto the GRAND LINE!Much of what I stated for the 3-in-1 volume before applies to this volume as well. The writing and the drawings are phenomenal and the characters engaging and very human. There are plenty of battle scenes for those who want to see action, there are new places to be explored, old enemies return to have their revenge, new nemeses come into play, and new questions that have no answer in sight are laid out in front of you. A wonderful but frustrating set of volumes as the questions continue to pile up and the Grand Line seems to be the place to find them. However long that will take.I rated this a bit higher then the other because the sections of the stories within this volume have some of the best flow, explanations, new characters, and plot development I've seen so far.What little of the Grand Line we see in this just makes me more excited to see this wonderful but scary place that has been built up as we traveled the East Blue.*The Rant*My rant from the previous review holds true here. Very little else here, as this is a Right to Left read book, and the 3-in-1 is a money saver when you compare to buying 3 separate volumes.*Conclusion*If you've read this far, this volume will not make you sorry you have. Instead, it merely pushes you to pick up the next one because we're left with a cliff hanger. This is a fun series with insightful information and thought provoking plots. One of the great manga series

2 month old loves it! And a 3 year old loves it! Both are wowed and like this pet face book better than the black and white shapes book.

This book combines the 2 things that never fail to hold a new baby's interest: faces & contrast.POSITIVES:-BENEFICIAL. You really can't go wrong buying this as, although it is simple, it mesmerizes babies while stimulating their brain growth.-NOT AGE-SPECIFIC. My son is almost 3 months old & continues to enjoy looking through the pictures as I make up stories about each one.-STURDY. I appreciate that it's a board book that will withstand use over time. It's also nice to be able to prop the book up for babies to examine during tummy time, etc.NEGATIVES:-Would love for this book to have just a few more pages.-Upon delivery, one of the pages did have a small crease down the center. Not a big deal & doesn't significantly alter the overall picture, but worth mentioning.

Newborn baby loved this when I sat it up beside her to look at or "read" to her. She spent hours (over time...) staring at this, and eventually smiling, cooing, and later flipping through herself. Perfect size for a diaper bag/purse. Durable too- my daughter teethed on this for months and it held up to 4 front teeth and a lot of drool.Have purchased this for 4 baby gifts and it is always a pleaser. Would recommend to anyone with an infant under 4-6 months. Best price here on Amazon as well- triple the price in my local big-brand bookstore.

I bought this for my two month-old baby and she is enthralled by this book! The images are awesome and she seriously perks up so much when I show her the pages. Her little feet get kicking like crazy and her eyes get big. I love that it's a board book. It makes it more durable and packable since we bring it with us often. I would definitely recommend this!

Baby likes all but last page. The first time she saw it, she was actively engaged, but for repeated use she seems to prefer Erin Balzer's black and white books (those do have a religious lean though, so some may not like that). But my baby definitely likes more variety than I thought she would, so I do recommend getting a few black and white ones. My baby started them at 2 weeks (before she was too sleepy) and is now 1 month. We only really look at 1 a day, but she is focused throughout the entire book. The only other book she has that attention for the pictures (besides these black and white ones) is a song book, Jesus Loves Me with illustrations by Tim Warnes. I don't know why since those are in color. She will listen to other books and look at me engaged if she does not like/see the pictures. I also recommend Goodnight Moon. I was surprised to see that she had the attention span to listen to the book, but she only likes the black and white pictures.I love Phyllis Limbacher Tildes' art, but I don't like the last pages of the black and white books either. It is a picture of a baby looking at a mobile. It is just okay. I do think it's worth it to see her light up like she just saw the most amazing thing, I just wish the last page was more black and white animals.

My husband thinks the pictures in this book are some CIA mind control for the baby, he stares at them totally hypnotized. I wish there were some words that went with it that I could read to him, but I just kind of make stuff up. The images definitely hold his interest for a while though, he's 4 weeks old and I'm eager to watch him progress with what types of books he likes. I'm glad these exist because I wanted to start him on reading at a young age!

The best few dollars I've ever spent! I bought this for my son when he was just a few weeks old. Those first few weeks are rough, since newborns can't really focus their eyes on much. Once he was able to start focusing on things, he really enjoyed this book!No, there aren't any words in it, and it is only 10 pages, and 8 are animal faces. They aren't super simple images compared to the Look Look book. They are a bit more detailed.I liked setting up the book in his pack n play so he could look at it. And I'd also flip through the pages for him and tell him what the animals are, or make animal sounds for him.

My baby loves this book, currently she is 2 months old and even at 1 month this book fascinated her and kept her attention very well for many minutes. The pictures are pretty life-like. No words which is fine with us. The book is durable and well-bound. Great for infants since high contrast and I'm sure older babies would enjoy too as they could learn the names of the animals. Has 8 to 10 different baby animals, one per page. For less than 4 bucks it's well worth it to me.

I bought this book before my daughter was born because I know babies love black and white pics at an early age. We have a Dalmatian so she loves the cover. She is 18 months and still loves this book. Now I say, what sound does this animal make? And she says "baa" for the sheep pic. Too cute!! Glad I bought it!!

Evlogeite was advertised in the Orthodox Observer - it said to get it through Amazon.This page is a little misleading - it says there are only used books available.I called St. Nicholas Press and spoke to a lady named Sophia and she says there are plenty of copies - just go on and hit the order the normal way and Amazon informs St. Nicholas Press and they ship it out quickly - Don't be duped by the statement there are only in the used column.Just wanted to help the next person who wanted to order this book.What the book offers is a detailed guide to the many holy places and shrines that Greece has to offer - One place is the on the island of Tinos - The Church holds an icon of the Virgin Mother that is literally covered with all types of jewelry - diamonds, pearls, etc - who have given them as thanks for prayers answered - amazing and beautiful to see.This book is a wealth of information for the seekers of faith.

This book is VERY good. I am not a pilgrim heading for Greece right now, but it is so interesting and inspiring it is hard to put down. Even people living in Greece, or in America having come from Greece, would truly appreciate the detail in this book.

Evlogeite! is a well written and comprehensive work on many, if not most, monasteries in Greece. It provides considerable historical and spiritual background material of the monasteries covered.

After reading the reviews of other folks, I decided to buy one for my father and myself. I was truly amazed at all the stories of my faith and where they transpired within Greece... Many of which my grandparents would tell me when I was a child. The stories of early Christianity, the saints and their miracles are truly uplifting and inspirational. I strongly recommend Evlogeite to every Orthodox Christian!

I was disappointed in the text of the book and the images.

This is a thorough guide to the main monasteries and convents of Greece. It made the perfect accompaniment to my recent travels through the mainland and the islands, keeping me well informed and helping me to locate holy places, some in remote locations. It provides valuable information on important relics and icons for veneration, and I credit this guide for providing me with the intel and confidence to embark on a pilgrims adventure spending time in Saint Patapios cave in the mountains above Corinth, venerating the miraculous icon of the Theotokos of Malevi high in the mountains of the Peloponnese, hiking the holy ruins of Christian Mystras near Sparta, visiting the great monasteries in the epic gorge accessed by the Diakopto rack-railway, meeting Saint Ephraim in his beautiful monastery at Nea Makri, and visiting the holy sites of Patmos island including Saint John the Theologian's Cave of the Apocalypse. Next time I plan to visit the monasteries of Lousios Gorge, Hosios Loukas near Delphi, and sail to Aegina island to visit Saint Nectarios before continuing to Lesvos island to Saints Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene. The point being, there is so much content in this book it will keep you occupied for many trips to Greece and more importantly, help you on your spiritual journey through the ancient practice of Christian pilgrimage. The sections on Mount Athos and Meteora are also very detailed, and I intend to make practical use of these in the future. Thank you for your work Nectaria McLees.

Rare relics, miracles, histories, and saint stories abound in these pages. If you are going to Greece, this book will help you plan your trip. Although it is large (950 pages), it is surprisingly light. Note: it does not include Cyprus, Rhodes, Crete and a few other smaller islands. By the way: in the back the book has hymns to the saints, so you can celebrate their memories in the places where they lived.

This book is memoir by arguably the top ultra-runner of his generation. If your looking for time splits, tips on interval training, how to run hills then keep looking, this ain't that book. This is about a person who approaches races as " journeys" and who basically is so talented he invents challenges for himself...like running around the rim of Lake Tahoe in one shot or if he can across a pryennes mountain range in 7 days.I think the big take away is that it's not what place you come in but the journey. For example, There is an entire chapter devoted him breaking the fastest accent and decent of mt. Kilimanjaro and the reader never finds what the old record was and by how much did he beat it by.The one thing the book does is give the reader an idea of the amount of suffering takes place as he is accomplishing these feats. one assumes that people with genetic disposition to run don't suffer during a race or " journey" but you would wrong. My opinion the best chapter is about how he overcome all his misery to win the 2012 western states in a sprint.the guy is about 24 or 25 and it kind of shows. I admire his outlook on running...creating art through exhurition. the book is not going to be a roadmap to how you can be a better runner but it does give you insight to what true passion for running is about.

I've become deeply involved in ultra running over the past year and have read +15 books about it. Killian's Run or Die is down on the list as one of my least favorites. It's extremely artsy and wordy, describing in deep detail his experience he has while running. I was actually hoping the book would be like this, but its very sporadic and jumps around from his early childhood to his FKT attempts. He is an amazing runner and I am always impressed by his videos on YouTube, but as a writer he didn't win the race.I recommend it only to the very involved ultra runner, as it does bring in some interesting experiences and questions we ultra runners all have. If this is one of your first running books you've picked up, put it back on the shelf for a later day. Worth reading but not if you are trying to get into the sport.

Kilian Jornet is, arguably, the world's greatest ultramarathoner. But he is not, at least at this point in his life, as gifted a writer as he is a runner. In a short 180 pages, Jornet gives the reader a sense of why he runs but if you are looking for an explanation of _how_ he runs --- the nutrition, training, rest, etc. --- then you'll be disappointed. What you do learn, though, is that running, skiing, and connecting with nature are at the core of his being. In the chapter about his record-setting run of the Tahoe Rim Trail he and his pacer get lost and have to back-track but rather than lash out or sink into depression, Jornet remarks, "more miles, more smiles!" For him, it seems, it is all about the miles.

No doubt one of the most extraordinary athletes ever, but really not a great writer. As other reviews have said, this is not a ‘how I do it’ kind of book, and I found it hard to engage with his presentation of ‘why I do it’. If you’re a fan of ultra running, Born to Run and Endure are far far better. If you’re a fan of Jornet, which I am, it’s a lot more fun to just read race reports.

I am not into ultra running and had never heard about Kilian before seeing his book on the shelves, but I had expected some more depth or details/ statistics before reading the book. Although I find he attempt to dive into the concept of winning and competing, he should probably have filled it up with some few more hard facts to make it more interesting etc.

I think something must be lost in translation, it is an interesting look at Kilian's running and skiing through his eyes but the translation leaves the book wordy and over describing the environment which makes it a bit of a bore to read. I can relate to his excitement, pain, ups and downs, and grueling fatigue from long days running which is when I feel most connected but I think the native version of the book must read a lot better because the wordiness of the description of the environments left me skipping ahead a lot to get to the good stuff.

Despite the language barrier, Kilian does a great job of putting you in the driver seat for some of his toughest runs. Ultra runners will find great inspiration and value in Kilian's mental game as he pushes through the last third of his races.Recommended for - Fans of Kilian's Quest on YouTube - Ultra Runners with an "embrace the pain" mentality - Those who enjoyed the action scenes of "Born to Run", "Eat & Run"
